Error message on license check in dialog’s details or in BIOSOLVE.log / lmadmin.log flexlm log:

Invalid returned data from license server system. (-12,16)

Solution

A conflicting port configuration will lead to this error message. Make sure that both, client and license server, use the same port. If not already using a specific port, set the port to 27000, otherwise the server will choose a port in the range between 27000 and 27009, which might be problematic with your firewall setup.
