Summer Workshop: Overcome Patents – How to Replace an Undesired Molecular Scaffold

What to do if the most important part of a compound is the one limiting any progress? In its very true definition, the pharmacophore is one crucial part of the molecule that is responsible for its biological activity. But sometimes it is the part with the undesired properties: toxicity, promiscuity, unfavorable physicochemistry, or, even worse, so good that its patented.
In this BioSolveIT workshop we will tackle the topic of how to find good replacements for core structures with computational methods beyond those of conventional pharmacophore-based screenings. Detailed insights into medicinal chemistry will be accompanied by real-life applications and examples how to profit from accessible Chemical Spaces to reach your goal quickly and cost-efficiently.
