The Winner of the Scientific Challenge Summer 2020 is Javier García Marín from Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas Margarita Salas (Madrid, Spain). Congratulations!

His project “Computational Approaches to Block SARS-CoV-2 Entry” is a little bit special, because it does not involve the main protease. But this little detail was not the only factor that made him win the challenge: He investigated the receptor binding domain (RBD) interaction between the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein with the human ACE2. The discovered molecules were capable to alter the affinity of RBD toward ACE2, confirming their utility to act as chemical probes and potential antivirals for therapy. The beautiful combination of BioSolveIT applications and his expertise convided us without a doubt.
