We are proud to share that Prof. Dr. Matthias Rarey, co-founder of BioSolveIT and Professor at the University of Hamburg, will be recognized with the 2025 Herman Skolnik Award by the Division of Chemical Information (CINF) of the American Chemical Society.
This award highlights Prof. Rarey’s outstanding contributions to Chemoinformatics, particularly in developing foundational algorithms that have reshaped how molecular design is approached today. His work spans both ligand- and structure-based methods and has consistently advanced the field of computational molecular discovery. What sets his contributions apart is their practical accessibility — with tools that are not only scientifically rigorous but widely used across academic and industrial settings.
Through his leadership, many of these innovations have been integrated into platforms offered by BioSolveIT, empowering researchers to explore chemical hypotheses interactively, intuitively, and at scale.
Join Us for a Scientific Lunch Seminar in His Honor
Wednesday, August 20, 2025
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM EDT
The Delegate Restaurant, 901 L St NW, Washington, DC 20001
To reflect on Prof. Rarey’s impact and gather with members of the scientific community attending ACS, we invite you to a short, in-person lunch seminar just a block away from the conference venue.
This compact session will provide a hands-on introduction to emerging strategies in early-stage drug discovery, with a focus on:
-
Ligand- and fragment-based exploration of ultra-large Chemical Spaces
-
Scaffold hopping and hit expansion using pharmacophore searches
-
A practical overview of Chemical Space Docking®, a novel structure-based approach for screening synthetically accessible compound spaces at trillion-scale
The workshop offers an opportunity to connect with fellow researchers, exchange ideas, and explore the next frontiers of molecular design — all in a relaxed lunch setting.
