Synergy boost for pharma and biotechs: Premier cheminformatics manufacturer and Tokyo-based life science IT experts deliver world-class drug design software to Japanese market
Tokyo, Japan and St. Augustin, Germany, June 1st, 2007 Ryoka Systems Inc. (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation) in Tokyo, Japan has signed a software distribution agreement with renowned cheminformatics provider BioSolveIT GmbH headquartered in St. Augustin, Germany.
Availability of BioSolveIT's award-winning methodologies from a first hand contact in Japan just became a reality. This agreement solves the issue of distribution, local contact and premium support for Japanese customers. The synergy effects are expected to be dramatic, as Ryoka Systems also partners with another global player, Canada-based Chemical Computing Group Inc. (CCG), to distribute their drug design and modeling platform MOE®. BioSolveIT's portfolio of applications is currently being seamlessly integrated with MOE®. BioSolveIT CEO Dr. Christian Lemmen is delighted: "I am certain that this will be one of the most fruitful collaborations we ever had. Ryoka's enormously high reputation and expertise in life science IT software will help us deliver the finest, fully tailored solutions to our valued Japanese customers." Synergies will also arise for customers outside Japan, as all major integration work between BioSolveIT products and MOE® is planned to be made available worldwide free of charge.
Ryoka Systems, who have been in the business of computational sciences for over 25 years, have commenced issuing BioSolveIT tools in their stand-alone version. This includes the promotion of Feature Trees (FTrees), the world's fastest molecular similarity and alignment tool, to interested Japanese users. FTrees has been used very successfully by pharma giants such as Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis, Roche, and many others. The companies further announced that a BioSolveIT representative will talk at the MOE Forum 2007 to be held in Tokyo on July 24th about the latest developments at BioSolveIT. Junichi Goto, Executive Officer at Ryoka's headquarters in Tokyo, promises that "to the benefit of our users, we can now offer 'crème de la crème technology' which has proven its value hundreds of times. I am very excited at the prospect of significantly expanding our portfolio by incorporating BioSolveIT tools such as FTrees, FlexS, FlexV, and 2Ddraw." Forming the perfect complement to its own offerings, the BioSolveIT software clearly represents another big leap forward for Ryoka.
