(Sankt Augustin, Germany, August 7th, 2006) BioSolveIT, known for its high impact drug design software, has succeeded in winning renowned scientist Christopher A. Lipinski for its Scientific Advisory Board.
This landmark reinforcement further strengthens the company's focus on application-centered software. Dr. Christian Lemmen, CEO of BioSolveIT, is delighted with Dr. Lipinski's appointment: "Chris Lipinski will have a tremendous impact on our mission to supply top-flight software. In 1997, Berkeley alumnus Lipinski, who recently retired as Senior Research Fellow at Pfizer Global R&D, invented the groundbreaking "Rule-of-Five" to assess the drug-likeliness of a given molecule. His seminal contribution to the scientific world has been cited over 1000 times to date, is included in textbooks, and is in widespread use in the everyday drug development business. BioSolveIT announced that property calculations such as proposed by Dr. Lipinski are now an integral part of FlexX docking calculations, facilitating for example selections based on docking score and the "Rule-of-Five" to further improve the virtual screening performance of its software.
